Elementary School (N – G5)

Welcome to the Elementary School at Beijing City International School.

I am excited to welcome all of our families into our positive learning community.  Not only do we have excellent facilities at BCIS, we have experienced faculty, an excellent curriculum and a desire to ensure that all our students are given opportunities to reach their highest levels. We encourage a balance of experiences at BCIS and we are all life-long learners together!

You will discover that there is always a variety of events and learning opportunities for our students. We truly believe that learning takes place when we make connections to personal experiences and build upon prior knowledge and understandings. We place emphasis on the learning of concepts, skills and attitudes, as well as knowledge, as we prepare our students for their journey into secondary education and beyond.

Our experienced staff, who hail from various countries, backgrounds and systems, are highly qualified and experienced and bring many years of experience to BCIS.

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is the framework for our curriculum, teaching and learning. The early years and primary years are the foundation for future learning and we take this responsibility very seriously.

I am the founding ES Principal at BCIS, having joined in 2005 when we opened our doors to our first students. I am proud to work alongside my dedicated colleagues, our committed students and supportive parents.

Learning is best achieved when we are active in the learning process and I encourage all our parents to be active in their child's learning whilst at BCIS.

Kind regards
