Welcome to 2010/11 School Year!

Dear Parents,

A hearty welcome to the 2010/11 School Year! We are looking forward to an exciting and inspiring year for all.  And to start things off, we invite you to our Orientation Morning on Saturday, 14 August from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon.

Orientation Morning gives students and parents the opportunity to meet their homeroom teachers, to ask questions about bus service, to load credits onto Eurest lunch card and to have a look about the school before the first day of school. Orientation morning is very informal; no presentations will be given at this time.

It has been a busy summer at BCIS preparing the facilities for the new school year.  We have an exciting new media center in the Middle/High School building, a glass-enclosed extension onto our Elementary School cafeteria and an enlarged, regulation sized soccer field. We hope you will all enjoy these new resources.

The first day of school is 16 August 2010. Please note:  Elementary classes begin at 8:20 a.m. and Middle and High School classes begin at 8:15 a.m.  If you bring your children to school, please be sure that they are here before these times.  If your children require bus service and you have not received bus information by August 10th, please contact our new Bus Supervisor, Maddie Shi, at maddie.shi@bcis.cn or 86 10 8771 7171 ext 6002.

Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten students start the year with a staggered opening.  Families with students in these grades will be receiving a separate email about the details of this procedure.

If you have any questions, please contact the school secretaries (ES: Tracy Hu tracy.hu@bcis.cn or 8771 7171 ext. 1006; MS/HS: Cici Li cici.li@bcis.cn or 8771 7171 ext. 2205) or Admissions Department (admission@bcis.cn 8771 7171 ext. 5006/5003/5001).  We always look forward to hearing from you.

With warm regards,
