The Apple MacBook 1:1 program at BCIS supports teaching and learning for all students from Grades 4-12 who are required to purchase a MacBook that can be used in and outside of the classroom for learning purposes.
BCIS strives to make sure students are given every opportunity to develop the 21st Century skills that they will need to be competitive in a changing technological landscape. The IB program develops creative and critical thinkers through a rich curriculum built on inquiry and experiential learning. It is the aim of the MacBook program to both support and drive such learning experiences.
BCIS works with Boya, an authorized Apple education re-seller, to ensure that a discount is offered to all student purchases of a MacBook. All MacBooks have to meet the BCIS minimum requirements:
• Students must purchase a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro 13” or larger.
• MacBooks must have a minimum hard disk storage size of 256GB.
• MacBooks models should be no older than Year 2014. A new model is preferred.
• Windows PC Laptops are not acceptable.
* For the protection of others, we recommend that the computer be used as the student’s personal device, not shared with others.
