在小小班及小班正式入园前，我们特别设置为期两周的“入园过渡陪伴”计划，邀请家长与孩子一同进入课堂。我们深信，由孩子最熟悉、最信赖的家人陪伴他们认识新老师、探索新环境，是缓解分离焦虑、建立校园安全感的最佳方式。我们从不希望家长“止步于校门外”，而是欢迎您成为课堂的一部分——在陪伴中共同适应，在互动中与教师建立真挚的情感连接。
ECC的校园设施始终向我们的家庭开放，让家长亲眼见证孩子在这里的学习、游戏与成长。此外，我们通过一系列家校活动不断深化信任。从开学初的“新家庭早餐会”到“家校之夜”，从语言与数学启蒙工作坊到校园慈善义跑，每一次真诚的沟通与持续的参与，都让每个家庭成为教育旅程中不可或缺的一员。

对于每个孩子而言，“独立”的意义都不尽相同——有的孩子已经能自己穿衣、整理物品；有的孩子仍在一点点学习。而在我们看来，独立的核心不仅关乎生活技能的掌握，更是一种内在的信念与成长的姿态。
在2-3岁成长的早期阶段，孩子们正踏上学习与探索的起点。他们逐渐理解：家人虽然会暂时离开，但会在他们完成精彩的一天后回来；学校是他们的天地，是可以自由探索、表达与建立关系的地方；更重要的是，他们正在学习一种信念——“我可以自己做到！”
我们的小小班课程通过丰富的日常体验，帮助孩子学习照顾自己。从自主选择午餐开始，他们在老师的引导下学会珍惜食物，理解“取之有度”的可持续理念；从分类投放垃圾开始，他们萌发了对社会责任与环保的初步理解......
我们不会急于替孩子完成一切，而是给予他们时间与空间去尝试——穿鞋、洗手、吃饭……真正重要的并不是结果，而是我们向他们传递的信任——相信他们“可以做到”。这种信任与耐心正是点燃他们责任感与探索欲的关键。
这也正是我们强调“有益的挑战（Productive Struggle）”的原因所在。所谓有益的挑战，是指孩子（和成人）在面对困难时仍坚持尝试、不轻言放弃，通过不断尝试与反思，寻找适合自己的解决策略。在“即时满足”大行其道的时代，我们不希望为孩子扫清所有障碍，而是希望他们在安全、有支持的环境中，学会与挑战共处。
在我们的小小班，孩子们每天都在充满乐趣的学习中不断成长、持续收获。
ECC 的课程始终以孩子与生俱来的好奇心为起点，我们相信，他们能在探索中自主发现学习的乐趣。因此，“探究式玩中学”成为我们最自然、最核心的教育方式。
我们所说的“玩耍”，并非单纯的娱乐，而是一种基于研究的探究式游戏教学。其核心在于教师的专业引导与有意识的设计——我们的教师善于捕捉那些由好奇心激发的探索瞬间，并将其转化为有意义的学习契机，让孩子的每一次发现都成为成长的养分。

Good relationships with highly qualified, consistent staff ensure that young children feel safe and secure. This foundation supports strong genetic development, preparing children to learn with confidence, social skills, and self-belief. BCIS has fully qualified, highly experience Expatriate and Chinese teachers working with our two-year-old children who understand this research and apply it in practice. Our Toddler staff have many years of experience with this age group, and they are deeply committed to the children’s development.
Trust is essential for young children to thrive. We work from the value that families are the children’s most trusted and first teachers, it is important to us that families build trusting relationships with us. This begins from your first encounter with us, where we are open about our program and what we offer.
Building on this, you will be able to stay in the classroom with your child during their first weeks of school. We believe the best people to introduce your child to teachers are you, as the most trusted people in your child’s lives. We will not ask you to leave at the door; instead, you will be able to be with your child, not only helping them settle but also forming relationships with our teachers. This continues as Toddler families are regularly welcomed to join the program. Our campus is always open for families to use our facilities, providing opportunities to see firsthand what we are doing with young children. We know trust is built through clear, transparent communication, and being part of the program is one of the best ways to nurture that.

Independence means different things to different children. Some toddlers come to school able to dress themselves; others do not. But independence is much more than that.
Independence is about understanding that school is a place for children to be and enjoy childhood. It is a place where your family leaves you so you can have a strong childhood. Independence means knowing your family will come back after you’ve had a wonderful day! It is a feeling—a disposition—that says, “I can do it myself!”
Our Toddler Program nurtures children’s independence and self-care through meaningful everyday experiences. By choosing their own lunch, they learn to appreciate food and embrace the sustainable principle of “taking only what we need.” Through sorting waste into the correct bins, they begin to develop a sense of social responsibility and environmental awareness.
We do not rush to do everything for your child. Instead, we provide space and time for your child to learn and practice sefl-care - putting on their shoes, washing their hands, and eating. What matters most is not the result, but the trust we convey to them—the belief that they can do it. This trust and patience are the keys that spark their desire to take on more responsibility.
This is also why we emphasize Productive Struggle. Productive struggle is when children (and adults) persist with a challenge despite difficulties. In a world where children often receive instant gratification, BCIS believes productive struggle is part of learning, taking responsibility for oneself, and becoming independent. Children in our Toddler Program learn to persist, keep trying, explore different strategies when frustrated, and experience the deep satisfaction that comes from overcoming a difficult challenge.
