QiongQiong Wu has worked in international environment around 18 years. she worked as kindergarten curriculum coordinator, PYP curriculum coordinator, and Chinese teacher that teaching across elementary to high school before. She recognized the importance of early childhood education, and how it impacts the later learning and growing in the future.
QiongQiong Wu has a passion for curriculum developing, and the rich experience enabled her to understand the differences between Chinese education and international education deeply in content, pedagogy and philosophy. Together with her team, she combined the Chinese compulsory education curriculum with the international curriculum to create courses suitable for Chinese students.
Originally from Preston, UK, Andrew relocated to the English countryside in 2009. He began volunteering in rural primary schools the following year, where he discovered a deep passion for education. In 2013, he commenced his formal training with a Foundation Degree in Learning Support, followed by a BA in Education from Bishop Grosseteste University. During this time, he also worked as a support worker for adults with autism and other learning differences, an experience that gave him valuable insight into cognitive development and individual learning pathways.
In 2017, Andrew moved to Inner Mongolia, China, where he taught a range of age groups and developed a particular interest in early childhood education. It was in the small city of Wuhai that he became inspired by the incredible potential of young learners. His journey then took him to Beijing, where he began working in an international school setting in 2018. Motivated by the creativity and curiosity of his students, Andrew went on to complete a Master’s degree in Education with the University of Central London (UCL).
Andrew is a dedicated and reflective educator who values strong relationships with both children and their families. He brings a storytelling approach into the classroom, encouraging imagination and language development through play and narrative. Outside of teaching, Andrew enjoys reading, exploring Beijing’s many parks, and participating in collaborative storytelling games. His passion for stories is evident in his teaching, where every day becomes an opportunity for new adventures
Chelley is a dedicated educator from the U.K. with a Bachelor’s degree in Media and a Master’s in Education and Globalisation. She holds a U.S. teaching license and has accumulated nine years of teaching experience, including four years at a prestigious school in Shanghai. For the past three years, she has been a member of the BCIS community.
With a deep passion for international education, Chelley creates a vibrant and creative classroom environment, inspired by her love for the arts. She utilizes explorative play to ignite her students' curiosity and support their journey of self-discovery and understanding of the world. Chelley strongly believes that a child's needs—social, emotional, physical, and cognitive—must always come first.
In her spare time, Chelley is an avid traveler and enjoys reading and writing short stories. She draws on her passion for literature to inspire her students and foster a lasting love for reading.
Deanna is originally from England, where she has spent most of her life. Teaching has always been her passion, inspired by her deep interest in Early Years education. She earned a BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Play, Learning, and Development, which ignited her dedication to working with young children.
Continuing her journey, Deanna studied Early Childhood Studies at Birmingham City University, gaining valuable experience in a nursery with children aged 6 months to 4 years. After graduating with first-class honors, she completed her PGCE in Primary Education, specializing in Early Years.
Now in her eighth year of teaching, Deanna is committed to instilling a love of learning in her students, empowering them to become independent thinkers. She enjoys discovering creative ways to engage children in their learning and believes that play is essential at every age.
This marks her fourth year teaching in China, and she is excited to embark on another year in Pre-K. Deanna has embraced her time in China, fully immersing herself in the local culture.
Outside of school, she enjoys reading, exploring new experiences, and spending quality time with family and friends.
With nearly 15 years of experience in early years education, Rachel is a dedicated and passionate educator from Wales, UK. After earning a degree in Early Childhood Education, she began her teaching journey with a focus on creating nurturing and engaging learning environments for young children.
Throughout her career, Rachel has worked in various settings, where she has developed a reputation for fostering creativity and curiosity in her students. She believes in the power of play-based learning and emphasizes the importance of building strong relationships with both children and their families.
Outside of the classroom, Rachel cherishes spending quality time with her family, whether it's embarking on outdoor adventures, exploring local parks, or hosting cozy movie nights at home. She also enjoys immersing herself in nature, taking long walks, and appreciating the beauty of the outdoors.
Chunli Niu has been working in international schools for the past 18 years. She has been working at Beijing City International School CK as a Chinese language and culture teacher for 2 years. Chunli graduated from Asian-European University London, she has taught at many well-known international schools both domestically and internationally, teaching students who speak Chinese as a second or third language as well as native Chinese speakers, from kindergarten to Grade 5. Her experience includes teaching in the Singapore Curriculum, the Cambridge International Curriculum, IB PYP curriculum and CNC. She has 6 years of experience in PYP & Reggio preschools and 12 years of experience in teaching Chinese as an inquiry-based language in primary schools, using many different types of curricula such as the Singapore, Cambridge, Chinese National Curriculum and IB PYP.
Chunli has a strong understanding of how children develop, learn, and make connections with the world around them. She adheres to the belief of putting students at the center and supporting their dreams for the future. She learns and grows together with children, upholding the educational philosophy of being a lifelong learner. She guides children to constantly discover and innovate, encouraging and empowering them to challenge themselves and become the best of themselves. During her time as a Chinese homeroom teacher, she planned and executed collaborative inquiry-based teaching with foreign teachers and was responsible for integrating Chinese traditional culture into different teaching units in a diverse teaching environment. This supported students in developing a deep understanding of Chinese culture, while also fostering their inclusive and respectful character and academic development.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading and movies, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Miss Christy Huang holds a Master's degree in Education from Flinders University in Australia, a bachelor's degree in musicology(violin) from Capital Normal University, and she holds Music Teacher Qualification Certificate and a Senior Orff Music Director Certificate. She has over eight years’ experience of teaching performing arts (music, dance, movement,drama) in Beijing's historic IB international school and kindergarten. At the same time, more than 16 years’ basic violin teaching experience has helped her understand and master the characteristics of young children's musical instrument learning and targeted teaching methods.
Miss Christy Huang thinks that music, dance,movement and drama are uniquely human arts through which children can better develop and continue their precious imagination and unfettered creativity. She believes that student is the center of education and teaching, every child is unique, as a teacher should insist on teaching children according to their interests and abilities, stimulate children's self-motivation to learn and inquiry the world.
