 Jier has always expressed herself through writing. Upon graduating, she published a memoir, ‘Hello, United Nations’, chronicling her high school life at BCIS. Immersed in BCIS’s inclusive and diverse environment, she developed a deep academic interest in social issues such as gender equality, poverty, and charity, inspired by teachers who led by example.    Over the past fifteen years, Jier has grown from a young writer to a sociology PhD focused on medicine and nursing, studying at institutions including Stanford and Boston College.    

她用笔表达自我。高中毕业时，她出版了纪实散文《你好，联合国》，记录了自己在乐成的高中生活。  在学校包容多元的教育环境中，她萌发了对性别平等、贫困、慈善等社会议题的学术兴趣，并开始深入研究。当时的老师更是以言传身教的方式深刻影响了她的价值观。  十五年来，杨吉儿从文理学院，到斯坦福，再到波士顿学院，由一名小小作家，成长为专注于医学与护理工作的社会学博士。

 Every BCIS student carries the potential to break boundaries. Embracing diversity with an open heart, they collaborate closely with peers from different countries and cultures, growing into true global citizens.    As BCIS's sole graduate in 2009, Ruoyi earned her IB Diploma with a unique perspective. She often joked, “In my class, I was both the top student and the 'worst' student—because with no classmates to compare to, my only competition was myself.” This independence and confidence have been her lifelong companions.    After graduating from New York University, Ruoyi ventured solo into New York City's vibrant creative industries—from architecture and fashion to advertising, publishing, and film—before founding her own brand and boutique in Brooklyn.    “Go out and explore—the world is your oyster,” Ruoyi says, embodying the adventurous spirit of BCIS.

每一名乐成学生都蕴含着打破界限的潜力，他们对于多元文化兼容并蓄，与来自不同国家和文化背景的伙伴紧密协作，一路成长为真正的世界公民。  作为2009年唯一的毕业生，她获得了DP文凭。在校期间，她常幽默地说：“在这个班上，我既是成绩最好的，也是成绩最‘坏’的，因为没有同学可以比较，我只能与自己赛跑。” 正是这份独立与自信，伴随着她一路成长。  纽约大学毕业后，她独自一人在纽约闯荡，历经建筑事务所、时尚界、广告公司、出版业、电影等不同行业，最终在布鲁克林街区创立了自己的品牌与买手店。  “去闯荡吧，The world is your oyster！（世界尽在你掌握）”——Ruoyi如是说。

Andy’s journey from philosophy student to Beijing’s wine expert showcases his unique blend of critical thinking and cultural storytelling. A Boston College honors graduate, he now educates wine lovers through thoughtful analysis and engaging narratives while running his three restaurants & bistros in Beijing. Andy is also a devoted father and proud second-generation BCIS family member, with his daughter Mee Mee currently attending the Early Childhood Center.

Silja Maria Yli-Juuti

Silja’s path reflects resilience, confidence, and a commitment to sustainability. After graduating from BCIS, she returned to Finland to pursue Energy and Environmental Engineering at Aalto University, where she also earned a master’s degree in Sustainable Systems and Markets. Now based in Helsinki, Silja thrives in a male-dominated field as a technical adviser for Ramboll, specializing in wind power.

Her leadership extends beyond technical expertise. Silja’s early experiences in the workplace, where she was often the only young woman, taught her to assert herself with confidence and grace. She is passionate about encouraging women to be fearless in pursuing their careers. Her work ethic and autonomy mirror her Finnish lifestyle, which values balance, calm, and connection to nature.

At home, Silja enjoys a fulfilling life surrounded by friends, family, books, and her beloved houseplants. She views the ability to manage her own time and decisions as a powerful form of leadership. Silja is an inspiring example of modern leadership rooted in self-trust, and she continues to make a positive impact on the energy sector and beyond.

Mona’s passion for storytelling was kindled early and nurtured through her time at BCIS and beyond. A film enthusiast since childhood, she rediscovered her love for filmmaking while completing a short film assignment at BCIS. This passion led her to pursue film studies at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, where she fully committed to her creative calling.

After graduation, Mona worked as a creative manager at Netflix, gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Yet, driven by a desire for creative freedom and authentic storytelling, she made a bold decision to leave corporate life and embrace independent filmmaking.

Now splitting her time between Los Angeles and a small island in Hawaii, Mona focuses on documentaries exploring cultural identity—stories that give voice to those often overlooked. Her filmmaking reflects the independent thinking and critical analysis skills fostered at BCIS, where she learned the importance of evaluating multiple perspectives and questioning narratives. An adventurous spirit, Mona broadened her worldview through exchange programs and immersive experiences, which continue to enrich her storytelling.

Mona embodies the BCIS spirit of forging one’s own path with creativity, courage, and meaningful engagement with the world.

Qinglan, a proud member of BCIS Class of 2022, recently completed her undergraduate studies in Law at the prestigious University of Cambridge, where she has since begun her master’s degree. During her time at BCIS, Qinglan was known for her passionate engagement both inside and outside the classroom, earning a BCIS Founder’s Scholarship for her dedication to academics and community service. Her lively discussions, leadership in music, and balanced approach to workload and extracurriculars laid a strong foundation for her university success.

At Cambridge, Qinglan has embraced new challenges and opportunities, joining the rowing and scuba diving clubs while continuing to share her love of music. She appreciates the close-knit community feel of both BCIS and Cambridge, quickly building friendships and strengthening her cultural identity. Her time abroad has not only broadened her horizons but also deepened her understanding and pride in representing Chinese culture, sharing authentic insights with her peers.

Beyond academics and activities, Qinglan is a natural leader who encourages open dialogue and cultural exchange. Recently, she embarked on a major trip exploring China, introducing her friends from Cambridge to her home country’s rich heritage. Qinglan's journey reflects the BCIS mission to empower global citizens who confidently navigate diverse environments while honoring their roots.

Particle Physicist, CERN Researcher

粒子物理学家，欧洲核子研究中心（CERN）研究员

Dr. Logical Siyuan Yan graduated from BCIS over ten years ago and has since become a leading figure in particle physics. Raised in Jiangmen, Guangdong, a city known for its intellectual heritage, Logical was drawn to science and problem-solving from an early age. Seeking a more explorative education beyond the standard system in China, she transferred to BCIS in Beijing, where her curiosity and love for learning flourished.

Logical earned her bachelor’s degree in Physics at the University of London, followed by a master’s at Imperial College and a PhD from Oxford—all before the age of 27. She now works at CERN on the ATLAS experiment, studying the Higgs Boson and its decay products to better understand fundamental particles and the origins of mass. Her research involves advanced data analysis and international collaboration in one of the world’s most prestigious scientific institutions. 

Despite the challenges of working in a diverse environment, Logical remains committed to fostering inclusivity in STEM and encouraging young scientists. She advises aspiring researchers to stay confident, speak up, and support one another, believing that the future of science thrives on diverse contributions and collaborative spirit. Her passion for discovery and learning shines bright as she continues to push the boundaries of human knowledge.

Logical博士十多年前从BCIS毕业，此后便投身于粒子物理学研究。她成长于广东江门——这座以深厚文化底蕴闻名的城市，自幼便对科学和解决问题满怀热忱。为了寻求更具探索性的教育，跳出国内传统教育模式，她转学至BCIS，在这里，她的好奇心与求知欲得到了充分滋养。

Logical在伦敦大学获得物理学学士学位，随后在帝国理工学院攻读硕士学位，并于27岁前在牛津大学取得博士学位。如今，她在欧洲核子研究中心参与ATLAS实验项目，专注于研究希格斯玻色子及其衰变产物，以期更深入地理解基本粒子以及质量的起源。她的研究涉及高级数据分析，且需在世界上最负盛名的科研机构之一开展国际合作。
