Safeguarding at BCIS
At BCIS, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, respected, and protected.
We believe that all children have the right to learn, grow, and thrive in an atmosphere of trust and care. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and all members of our community work together to promote students' wellbeing, prevent harm, and respond promptly to any concerns.
Our safeguarding practices are guided by international best practice and relevant legal requirements. Through robust policies, staff training, safe recruitment procedures, and a strong culture of vigilance, we strive to ensure that every student is protected and supported both inside and outside the classroom.
Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs)
Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) have specific responsibility for leading and coordinating safeguarding and child protection across the school. They provide guidance and support to students, staff, and families, manage safeguarding concerns, and work closely with external agencies when necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child.
Students, parents, and staff are encouraged to contact a DSL whenever they have a concern about a child's welfare, safety, or wellbeing. All concerns are taken seriously and handled sensitively, appropriately, and in accordance with our safeguarding procedures.
Reporting a Safeguarding Concern
If you have a safeguarding concern you can report directly to a Designated Safeguarding Lead. Community members can also speak to any BCIS staff member who can support them to report a concern. Staff can report concerns via the Child Protection Incident Form.
