BCIS (MERRY!) CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

Dennis Wang

Last weekend,BCIS held its annual Christmas Bazaar, and as if by magic, Beijing was blessed with a dusting of snow to add a true holiday feel to this special day. This year's Christmas Bazaar was held in partnership with the Roundabout charity'sHelping Hands project, which supports the families of children with blood diseases.Over 70 local vendors came together to offer a wide range of hand-made products, delicious snacks and Christmas gifts for the whole family. This event raised a total of 32,087RMB which will all be used to help support the incredible Helping Hands project.

Alongside local businesses, the Bazaar saw BCIS ID8 Diploma Program students sell their own handcrafted products,BCIS Roots & Shoots members sell recycled jewelry, and BCIS Kindergarteners selling homemade cookies and cards, all to raise money for their respective causes. Guests were also treated to a series of performances by BCIS students. After Ms. Lawton, BCIS Head of School, lit the Christmas Tree, the Elementary School Choir kicked off the day with a wonderful Christmas Medley, followed by Kindergarten's own Christmas song selection. The ESWoodwind and Brass Band wowed audiences at what was their first ever live show, and the ES Rock Band shook the school with pop-punk bangers! The day ended with wonderful solo and duet performances from talented Secondary School students and a visit from the actual Santa Claus and his elf helper!

Christmas is a time for giving and celebrating at BCIS. We appreciate everyone who came to this event and look forward to seeing you at events to come! Especially the BCIS Spring in the City event that will take place on 3rd May 2020. #BCIScelebration #BCIScommunity
