Twenty years—a span of time long enough to shape a lifetime.

At Beijing City International School (BCIS), the past two decades have not only witnessed the rise of an institution dedicated to educational excellence, but also the blossoming of a vibrant, deeply connected learning community. Along the way, moments of growth, connection, and inspiration have woven together what we now call “My BCIS Memories.”

To celebrate this significant milestone, BCIS proudly presents the 20th Anniversary Special Edition of Xuexi, our annual community magazine. Now in its 32nd issue, this edition is named “My BCIS Memories” and features nearly one hundred heartfelt submissions from students, parents, alumni, and staff. Whether through stories, artworks, or photographs, each contribution captures a unique thread in the rich tapestry of BCIS history.

Memory is not confined to words—it also lives in color, in shape, and in imagination. This special edition features student artwork that captures the theme “My BCIS Memories.”

From our youngest learners in ECC to our upper primary students, these artworks span all ages and styles—each one capturing laughter in the classroom, the kindness of teachers, and the joy of friendship. Some students illustrated “A Day at BCIS” through comic strips, while others expressed the essence of the “BCIS Spirit” in powerful themed pieces.

From realism to abstraction, from the everyday to the imaginary, these artworks reveal how BCIS’s environment, curriculum, and culture continue to inspire creativity and self-expression. Together, they form a vibrant,“community art map” that adds warmth and imagination to this commemorative issue.
