Please read on further and watch the slideshow below to see a glimpse of how we at BCIS celebrate our Chinese Roots. The Chinese New Year (CNY) is one of the most important holidays celebrated in our host country. With firmly planted Chinese roots, Integrating Chinese culture into the curriculum at BCIS is an important part of the school's identity and mission. Therefore, we always make certain to mark it in special ways. This year was no exception. Throughout all three school divisions, various classes focusing on traditional Chinese cooking, poetry, and other important aspects were held in celebration of the lunar new year. In addition, the annual (and highly popular) CNY Parade was held at the ECC, while CNY assemblies were presented respectively at the Elementary School (ES) and Secondary School (SS), further spreading the joy this special holiday brings.
